About Us

IMIS maintains a core of highly qualified professional staff with specialist capabilities and experience relevant to their particular fields of expertise.

To complement the in-house expertise, IMIS maintains strategic alliances with other selected specialist companies, academic institutions and service providers and is able to access appropriately skilled personnel for particular projects.

The IMIS Management Group consists of Dr Darrell Bowyer, Managing Director, Mr Peter McKelvie, General Manager, and Dr Guy Eitzen, Research Manager.

Dr Darrell Bowyer, who founded the company, has postgraduate qualifications in statistics and transport from the University of Melbourne, is a member of the Statistical Society of Australia, and has extensive experience in the traffic and transport fields.  His experience has been gained through a number of senior positions in government, research, academic and private consulting agencies.

Darrell has developed and managed many research, academic and consulting projects throughout Australia and in Germany, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, China and Sri Lanka.  He is the primary author or co-author of over 300 research-consulting papers and his work has been published in reports and journals and presented in seminars, lectures and workshops.

Darrell has planned and presented guest lectures to post-graduate courses at various locations, including Monash University and Swinburne University in Melbourne.  He has served as Chairman of the Technical Committee (and co-opted Council Member) of the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia and was a co-recipient of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (USA) Transportation Energy Conservation Award for research into energy savings from urban traffic management.

In 1996, Darrell established IMIS Integrated Management Information Systems (IMIS).  Since then he has worked closely with a large number and range of clients to provide information required by business and government for planning and management.  Through the effective design and application of appropriate statistical, forecasting, monitoring and auditing procedures, Darrell has assisted clients in gaining a clearer understanding of their markets and businesses and in achieving sustainable outcomes.   Darrell has also built IMIS into a specialist applied research and consulting company, staffed by dedicated personnel with the expertise and motivation to define and address clients’ requirements.
